Mr. Gerhard Josef Sauer, age 75, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his home following a period of declining health.

Born on May 26, 1937, in Heidelberg, Germany, Mr. Sauer worked as a mechanic engineer. Mr. Sauer attended the Jasper United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his first Wife, Hilda Sauer.

He is survived by his Wife, Eve R. Sauer, of Jasper, Georgia, Sister, Elfrieda Gund, of Plankstadt, Germany, Step-Brother, Seigfried Fildebrand and his Wife Monica, of Heidelberg, Germany. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 12PM Noon, Saturday, June 30, 2012 from the Jasper United Methodist Church, the Rev. Chip Wilson officiating with the interment to follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home on Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 10:00 am-11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 300 West Emery Street, Dalton, Georgia 30720 or to the Jasper United Methodist Church, 85 West Church Street, Jasper, Georgia 30143.
