a) Motion to appoint Councilman Cronic and Bishop to a 30 day Ad Hoc finance committee to develop temporary and permanent recommendations for councils review and immediate action, that would establish a sustainable fiscal operating model for the City of Nelson where revenues exceed expenses. (Mayor)

b) City Council to receive preliminary draft of proposed Nelson 2013-2017 Community Work Plan for inclusion in the Joint Pickens County Comprehensive Plan. To review and forward any revisions of the draft documents action plans to the city manager by February 11, 2013. To establish a special City Council work session date in February to review action items, assign completion dates and responsible party, and review cost estimates and identify funding sources for the Nelson Community work plan. (Mayor)
c) Motion to set up a charge account through Home Depot in Jasper. By doing this the city will save money on each purchase and will pay the full bill monthly. (Brandy)
d) Motion to adopt a mission statement – The mission of the City of Nelson is to partner with our community to deliver services, preserve, protect and enhance the quality of life and plan for the future and a vision statement – To continue to be a welcoming, active community that values its small town atmosphere that fosters quality of life for all age groups, a business friendly environment, and fiscal integrity in its government. e) Motion to set a date for a annual workshop with city council for the purpose of conducting an annual strategic planning session with council members. (Brandy)
f) Use of City Hall after hours. Who does the city allow to use city hall? Do we charge for use? If allowed how do they gain access to the building? Who is in charge of clean up? (Brandy)
