Mr. James Washington Edwards, age 82 of Nelson, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia following a period of declining health.Born February 22, 1931 in Gordon County, Georgia, he was the son of the later James William Martin Edwards and Kindness Arleva White Edwards. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Virginia McFarland Edwards. Mr. Edwards was last employed by the Sosebee Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia.

Survivors include daughters & sons-in-law; Sheila and Howard Stamey of Jasper, Ga., Marilyn and Wade Forrester of Tate, Ga., son; George Edwards of Epworth, Ga., 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Wayne Long will officiate with entombment to follow in the Cherokee Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.
