If you were lucky enough to meet him,
Only good words you would say,
About the man we all call Pop.
Who was kind in every way.
He was a mountain of a man,
A “John Wayne” type your eyes would see.
But he had a heart of gold,
And would do anything for you or me.
He took us hunting and fishing,
And taught us how to be a man.
And if we ever needed help,
He would always lend a hand.
It’s been almost two years,
Since God took Nanny home.
He tried staying tough,
But we could tell he felt alone.
This morning he passed,
And we miss him more than you could know.
But I cry happy tears
Because I see Nanny’s face sparkle and glow.
Now they are young and healthy,
Neither one in any pain.
As they look down on the family they built,
And see how much love is in the Coleman name.
Dan Dobson
