Isakson is encouraging constituents to come talk with Ms. Clopton about any issues concerning the federal legislation or federal agencies such as Veterans Affairs, the IRS, Medicare or the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services.
“This open office day will help ensure that the views, concerns and local efforts of all Georgians are reflected in the operation of our office,” said Isakson.

First Friday Morning Mixer

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for Chamber Members, as well as the community, to come and network! First Friday Morning Mixers are very similar to our Business After-Hours except they will be held in the morning from 7:30-9:00 a.m. on the First Friday of each Monday at the Sponsoring Business location. The Bank of North Georgia will Kick Off our first on August the 2nd so please mark your calendar to attend! See the attached flyer for more details or to learn how to become a Sponsoring Business.

Chamber Picnic in the Park
The Fabulous 50’s Picnic in the Park, sponsored by Renner Companies and Dough Boys Cakes & Catering was a blast for hundreds of chamber members and their family members who attended on Tuesday, February 11th. Whether they chose to participate or sit back and watch, everyone was entertained by the festivities. These festivities included hula-hoop contest, tug of war, best 50’s attire and a bubble gum blowing contest.
The annual picnic, in lieu of the Chamber of Commerce monthly membership breakfast, was a free event for members and their families to enjoy playing, socializing, and eating hot dogs with all the trimmings. And what’s a 50’s Picnic without coke floats which were provided by the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family. The Small Business of the Month was also awarded to TheNamedroppers LLC.

In addition to the sponsors of the picnic, there were many others who played a role in making the event a success and deserve be recognized, Dwight with Pepsi, Artistic Designs, Episcopal Church of the Holy Family, Michelle Roberson, Nancy Unzicker, Jackie Childers, Haley Bouchie, Kyle Waters, Mike Ehrlich and Theron Bouchie.

You don’t want to miss this event next year because it’s a “rockin” good time. To view all photos taken at the picnic go to www.KnowPickens.com and www.Fetchyournews.com.

Business After Hours
With nearly 40 Chamber members and guests in attendance, Sharptop Arts Association in Jasper, Georgia, opened their historical building to host the June Business After Hours. The skies were threatening rain during the two-hour event, but that didn’t stop anyone from enjoying the beauty of the half-acre Visionary Gardens. Inside the building, Director Jeanette Bottari was pleased to present the show that will be on display through July 6, Appalachian Splendor. Each of the sponsors provided many wonderful door prizes with the culmination of the cash prize drawing at 6 p.m. Maggie Patterson of Maggie’s on Main was not in attendance when her name was drawn for the $250 cash prize, therefore, the money will roll over to the July Business After Hours. Many thank yous go out to Sharptop Arts Association for hosting the June Business After Hours. Please join us on July 11 as The Episcopal Church of the Holy Family Hosts the July event.
