Excitement was in the air as students awaited the announcement of the winning essays. The essay question for Tate was a story on scarecrows due to an existing project in which the students were working.The stories were definitely authentic and orginal. Although there were many good essays written only two could be chosen as winners with a third for honorable mention (included). The winners were Brett Cody, Samatha Lyman and honorable mention for Daylen Ray. The students bravely read their essays in front of their peers and teachers and proudly recieved their prizes for a job well done. The entire class received mini-frosty coupons and bookmarks which the kids can redeem for a kids meal and dessert in exchange for reading a book of their choice. Of course, all the kids left with plenty of pencils.

FYN CEO, Brian K. Pritchard spoke to the students regarding the importance of reading and writing and offered suggestions and remarks regarding internet safety.
