Groundbreaking Ceremony Planned for New Boys & Girls Club

At the Pickens County Boys & Girls Clubs, everything we do is focused on helping the young people who need us the most to ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN LIFE. This new 20,000 sq. ft. Clubhouse is being built to do just that, now and for decades to come! Expected to serve 200+ children and teens a day, the Club will feature a Teen Center, Pre-teen area and a gym-sized health & fitness center.Once opened, it will replace the organization’s outdated Club located at Roper Park. This facility currently serves elementary-age youth. Pickens teens have asked for many years for somewhere to go and something to do in the evening and Saturdays so we have designed more than half of the facility around their needs. Youth of all ages in the Pickens community will now have a safe, supervised place to go during the after-school hours and summer months.
“The new Club facility will allow us to reach more youth, and serve them more often. Any child who wants to build a great future will have an opportunity to do so in a first-class, safe and modern Clubhouse!”
said Michele Brackin, the organization’s Executive Director.
The official Ground Breaking Ceremony is scheduled on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 @ 11am. We’re located at 100 Freedom Way, right behind the Pickens County Community Center off of Camp Road. For more information, please contact Michele Brackin, Executive Director, at 678-773-1146.
