Mr. Henry Guy Cox, Jr., age 73, of Jasper passed away at his residence in Rock Creek Manor on Sunday, May 03, 2015. He was born on June 17, 1941 in Henderson, Kentucky. He was a graduate and a member of the Alumni Emeritus Society at Florida State University. Mr. Cox worked for State Farm Insurance for 38 years after he proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He enjoyed bowling and belonged to many bowling leagues throughout his lifetime. He was a huge football fan and loved to travel; especially in the European Countries.

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents; Henry Guy Cox, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Browder Cox, and brother, Richard Cox.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Cox of Jasper; children, Betsy Parker (Howard) of Murphy, North Carolina, John Cox (Christy) of Coral Springs, Florida; grandchildren, Wesley and Jordan Cox of Coral Springs, Florida; sister, Marie Lowe of Seminole, Florida; sisters-in-law, Mickey Cox of Henderson, Kentucky, Janice Lindley of Winter Haven, Florida; brothers-in-law, Dick Lindley of Winter Haven, Florida, Bud Brown (Nancy) of Zephyrhills, Florida; nieces, Jeanie Lindley and Jilli Lindley both of Winter Haven, Florida, Annie (David) Russell of Merritt Island, Florida; nephews, Jacob and Jeffery Lowe of Seminole, Florida, Rick Cox of Henderson, Kentucky; great niece, Danielle Russell of Merritt Island, Florida; great nephew, Blake Russell of Merritt Island, Florida.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Steve’s Steak House in Blairsville, GA. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Georgia Mountains Hospice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper, GA.
