Mrs. Virginia Rose Hawn, age 86, of Jasper, Georgia (formerly of Blue Ridge, Georgia) passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 in the care of family.She fell asleep in death on what would have been the 66th anniversary of her and her late husband. He fell asleep in death July 20, 2014.

Mrs. Hawn was born in Hartford City, Indiana on March 11, 1929 to late Ivan and Nila Sills. Her mother died in childbirth and she was raised by her grandparents. She graduated from Hartford City High School and was Prom Queen her senior year. Her life consisted of fifty-two years in Hartford City, Indiana; eighteen years in Bonita Springs, Florida; sixteen years was spent in Blue Ridge, Georgia; and in recent months she had moved to Jasper, Georgia to be closer to family. Mrs. Hawn worked as a secretary at Bonham Insurance Agency in Hartford City and also sold Avon for many years back at a time when it was delivered to your door. Virginia loved her family, and was a devoted grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved crocheting for others. She would make baby outfits, blankets, stuffed animals, Barbie dresses, hats for cancer patients, and many other things.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Virginia looked forward to the time when she will awaken from death on a paradise earth in a healthy, youthful condition to be reunited with her family and friends. (John 5:28-29; Isaiah 11:6-9; Job 33:25; Psalms 37:10-11, 29)

Mrs. Hawn was recently proceeded in death by her husband, Norman Hawn. She was survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Ann and Edward Eggley of Blue Ridge, Georgia; brother, Thomas Wayne Sills of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Cherity (Larry) Breazeale, April (John) Hall, Matthew Eggley, and Dustin (Melanie) Eggley; great grandchildren, Jordan and Tyler Breazeale, Trenton and Kendall Hall, Reece and Erin Eggley, and Brianna and Austin Eggley.

Memorial services for Mrs. Hawn will be held Wednesday, July 1 at 6:00 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Blue Ridge, Georgia with Daniel Allen officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.roperfuneralhome.com.
