Mr. James Walter Johnson, age 76, of Jasper passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. Walt was born March 29, 1939 to the late Loy O. Johnson and Cora Nichols Johnson Servis in Pickens County.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Johnson of Jasper; children, Lynn and Terry Cantrell, Joyce and Hubert Smith, Tony and Tammy Hollifield, Brandy and Bud Payne; sister, Sarah Keeter; grandchildren, Amanda and Terence Griggs, Joshua and Christi Cantrell, Kathryn and Clay Williams, Nicholas Cantrell, Cara Smith, Brooke Smith, Jessie and Amanda Hollifield, Casey and Hayden Hollifield, Mandi and Brandon Reece, Meagan and Blake Herndon, Hanna and Haley Payne; great-grandchildren, Deanna and Lilly Williams, Emily Herndon, Cyrus and Colton Reece.

The Funeral Service will be 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Cantrell, Rev. Autry Dean, and Rev. Robert Allen officiating. The interment will follow in Lake Forest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Saturday evening and Sunday until 10:00 p.m.

Walt requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Make A Wish Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
