Jones, Falcons Agree To 5-Year Extension

Star wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, Julio Jones, has agreed to terms on a 5-year extension to stay with the team. The deal is worth $71.250 million with Jones getting $47 million in guarantees according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN and other sources. Jones was entering the final year of his rookie deal.
In 2011, the Atlanta Falcons traded five draft picks to the Cleveland Browns and selected Jones with the 6th overall pick out of the University of Alabama. Since 2011, Jones has become a 2x pr bowler, was the NFC’s leading receiver in 2014, and holds the Falcons single season record in receiving yards with 1,593. Coming into the season, Jones was ranked 13th out of the Top 100 Players in the NFL by his peers. From 2011-14, Jones has amassed 278 catches, tallying 4,330 yards, and scoring 26 receiving touchdowns.
