After almost a full week of searching, the Pickens Sheriff’s Office is set to not just continue, but widen their search area.

According to Captain Kris Stancil with the Pickens Sheriff’s Office, they are distributing fliers for citizens to circulate and post throughout a variety of areas. You can also see the flier below.

However, the flier is just one arm of the increasing efforts of search. Cpt. Stancil has also informed FYN that further assistance will be coming from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency on Saturday in the form of a large number of “trained Search and Rescue teams from all over the state of Georgia.”

Due to the expanded search area and the teams helping, they will begin shuttling these teams to specific grid areas to complete thorough searches before returning and being reassigned.
