John Richard Blaine Massey Sr., 40, passed on May 19, 2017. John was born in Athens, GA on August 8, 1976.

He earned his license from UNC and spent 20 years of his career at 1st Franklin where he became Regional Operations Director. John was a great friend and touched many lives in so many ways. His contagious laugh and bright blue eyes could light up a room and will be missed deeply.

John leaves behind his beloved parents, Johnny and Anne Massey. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Jessica Massey and grandson, Blaine; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Makayla Massey; sons, Jordan Massey, Joe Massey; daughter, Victoria Massey; devoted Radha “Rhea” Vallinayagam; brothers and sister-in-law, Tony and Kim Cumbahee, James Cumbahee, Shane Cumbahee, Jeff Massey and David Massey.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Bowens officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park in Jasper.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper, Georgia.
