Pickens High School All-State running back, Shannon Brooks, will officially sign scholarship letter of intent to play for the Minnesota Gophers on Wednesday February 4th at 7:45am at Pickens High School. The Pickens High School Dragons wrestling team, traveled to Gilmer High School to take part in the Area 7-AAAA Duals tournament. While the Dragons did not qualify for the State Tournament, Pickens did pick up a win over Southeast Whitfield, routing the Raiders 48-15.

Pickens County youth wrestler, Isaiah Williams, recently competed at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta with 102 eight year old wrestlers, winning two championships. Williams was also named Most Valuable Wrestler, in his age group.

The Pickens High School wrestling team faced off in Area competition with the Gilmer High School Bobcats and Ridgeland High School Panthers. While the defending state Duals and Traditional AAAA champion Bobcats bested the Dragons, 69-3, Pickens picked up a victory, pummeling and pouncing on the Panthers 66-18.
