James Stephen Lipscomb, age 71 of Jasper, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Gwinnett Hospital. He was born May 22, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia to Stephen and Lucile Lipscomb. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

James is survived by his wife, Rosemary Lipscomb of the Bent Tree Community in Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and Phil Glasgow of Lawrenceville; granddaughter, Shelby Nicole Glasgow; and his family in Scotland and Cartersville. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Phil Lipscomb and Mike Lipscomb.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Buford Lipscomb officiating. The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home Friday, February 10, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. His cremains will be interred 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2017 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
