Mr. Emmett Harley Kent, age 86, of Dawsonville, Georgia died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Heritage Healthcare of Blue Ridge.

Born July 20, 1926 in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Jim Kent and Nancy Padgett Kent. Mr. Kent was a laborer for Georgia Marble.

Survivors include, his Daughter, Lorene Kent Duncan, of Dawsonville, Son, EJ Kent, of Dawsonville, Brother, Gene Kent, of Dawsonville, 1 Grandchild, John Blackwell, of Cartersville, 3 Great-Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Mr. Kent was preceded in death by his Wife, Mrs. Estelle Tatum Kent.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 19, 2012 from Corinth Baptist Church, the Rev. Gary Keown and Rev. Shannon Westbrook will officiate, with the interment to follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends after 5 PM on Friday, all day Saturday, and until the funeral hour on Sunday.
