Please honor one of Jasper’s fallen sons Saturday by participating in a memorial bike ride to help American troops, veterans and the families of fallen heroes. Army Sgt. David Collins was a husband, a father and a son who died fighting for our country in Iraq at the young age of 24. Collins was born in Jasper on August 10, 1981. Just days before what would have been his 30th birthday, a Memorial Bike is being held in Sgt. Collin’s honor to raise money for other members of the military and their families. A Memorial Bike Ride is set for this Saturday, August 6th. The staging area will open at 8:30a.m. at the Microtel Inn, located at 171 H Mullins Court in Jasper. Riders will start the route at 10a.m., heading for the final destination of Rocco’s Pub, located at 47 Mountainside Village Parkway. There will be live music, food and door prizes available after the ride. The cost to participate is $25 per rider and $5 per passenger. For more information, contact Lynn Dean at 770.377.9103.
