Mrs. Elizabeth Howard Weir, age 87, of Jasper, Georgia, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, following a period of declining health.
Born April 23, 1924 in Florence, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dewey Howard and Zada Rosella McMeans Howard. Mrs. Weir graduated from the David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother and taught children in the Church of Christ. Mrs. Weir was a member of the Northside Church of Christ in Jasper, Georgia.

Survivors include, HER HUSBAND OF 62 YEARS, Tom Weir, of Jasper, Ga.; DAUGHTERS & SONS-IN-LAW, Carol and Larry Morris, of Grayson, Ga.; Susan and Gary Ross, of Douglasville, Ga.; SON & DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, Jeff and Charlene Weir, of Roswell, Ga.; 6 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren, Several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2011, from the Roper Funeral Home Chapel, Minister Terry Burress and Minister Harold Savage will officiate with the interment to follow at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Those serving as pallbearers are, Mr. Gary Ross, Mr. Luke Ross, Mr. Larry Morris, Mr. Ken Pope, Mr. Lloyd Ferrell and Mr. Bill Horton

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
