Mrs. Nora Nix, age 91, of Ball Ground, Georgia, died Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Heritage Healthcare in Jasper, Georgia, following a period of declining health.

Born December 24, 1919 in Dawson County, Georgia she was the daughter of the late, John Holcomb and Bertha Haithcock Holcomb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Nix. Mrs. Nix was the co-owner of the Frosty Bar in Ball Ground and a member of the Ball Ground First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Jasper OES #479 and a charter member of the Ball Ground OES.

She is survived by her Daughter and Son-In-Law, Kay and Al Fowler, of Ball Ground, Son & Daughter-In-Law, Carroll and Ann Nix, of Ball Ground, Grandchildren, Angie and Joey Jones, of Jasper, Tammy and Stewart Ellington, of Knoxville, Leah and Nathan Chapman, of Ball Ground, Andy Fowler, of Ball Ground, and Josh Nix, of Ball Ground, Great-Grandchildren, Nicholas and Noah Jones, and Grey and Reid Ellington.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011, at the Ball Ground First Baptist Church, with remains placed in state at 1:30p.m. at the church, the Rev. Richard Poe will officiate with the interment to follow in Ball Ground City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, all day on Wednesday and until the funeral hour on Thursday.
