Mrs. Olive “Nell” Painter Sellers, age 85 of the Turniptown Community, Ellijay, Ga. passed from this life Sunday, January 22nd, 2012. She was born May 25th, 1925 to her late parents, Ralph Francis and Agness Rogers Painter in Canton, Georgia. Mrs. Sellers attended her home church, Turniptown Baptist Church, was treasurer and taught Sunday school at 1st Social Brethren Church of Pontiac, MI for 30 years. She also served as a Troop Leader in the Girl Scouts of America.
Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the Turniptown Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Doug Marrow, 5125 Turniptown Road, Ellijay, Ga. 30536.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 23rd from the Turniptown Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Pettit, Rev. Billy Cantrell and Rev. Ricky Brown officiating, music and song performed by the Church choir. Graveside interment service will follow in the Turniptown Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jonathan Stewart, Nathan George, Alex Steward, Ben Hut, Jonathan Gibson, Andy McClure, Derick Lansing, and Randy Dyer.
Survivors include husband of 64 years Arthur Cecil Sellers of the home in Ellijay, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law: Andria “Bunny” and Ron George of Auburn Hills, MI, Jan and Jon Stewart of Ellijay, Ga.; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sisters and brother-in-law: Jo and Harvey McClure of Ellijay, Ga., Jean Painter Smith of Cartersville, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law Austin and Fanny Painter of Cartersville, Ga., Fred and Josie Painter of Big Springs, TX.; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends starting at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22nd at the Logan Funeral Home.
