Thomas William Moss, known to his family as Bill and most friends and work associates as Tom, passed away after an extended illness on Friday, February 17th. Tom was born in Jasper Georgia on March 14, 1930. He was a member of the Jasper United Methodist Church and had lived in Jasper since 1997. Tom was known for his involvement in many organizations including: the AARP, the local Republican Party, the Rotary Clubs of Gainesville and Stone Mountain, GA, and the Georgia Tech Alumni Association.

Tom served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Pickens Star Masonic Lodge # 220. He retired from the Atlanta Gas Light Company after 45 years of service. He was very involved with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Tour efforts to bring additional development to the State of Georgia. Before moving to Jasper, Tom and his wife Rose Marie “Boots” lived in Oakwood and Stone Mountain, GA. Tom was a 1959 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie “Boots” Moss and is survived by son Kevin of Houston, TX and his fiancée Sue Coley, son Randy and his wife Regina of Dahlonega, GA, and grandchildren Emily and Andrew.

Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday February 22 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home in Jasper GA. Burial will be later at the National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

Visitation services will be held at the Roper Funeral Home in Jasper on Tuesday February 21 from 4 to 8 P.M.
