Mr. Brian John Russell, age 52 of Ellijay, Georgia and formerly of Jasper, Georgia, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the St. Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta, Georgia, following a period of declining health.

Born February 25, 1960 in Waterbury, Connecticut, Mr. Russell worked as the Receiving Manager for Town and Country Furniture in Blue Ridge, Georgia. He was a member of the Jasper United Methodist Church in Jasper where he enjoyed participating in the choir.

Survivors include, DAUGHTER, Alex Russell, of Ellijay, Ga.; SON, Parker Russell, of Scottsdale, Ga.; HIS PARENTS, John and Jean Russell, of Canton, Ga.; SISTER & BROTHER-IN-LAW, Karen and Brian Dunson, of Canton, Ga.; BROTHER & SISTER-IN-LAW, Kevin and Kim Russell, of Auburn, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews and Other Relatives also survive.

A Celebration of Life Services is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel located at 206 Holley Street, Jasper, GA. The Rev. Chip Wilson will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home on Saturday, 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. prior to the Service.

A Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Saint Philip Benizi Catholic Church, 591 Flint River Rd., Jonesboro, Georgia 30238. Father John Koziol will conduct the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to support the college education of Mr. Russell’s daughter. Funds should be made payable to Alexandra Russell and mailed in care of Chase Bank GA2-0089, 6782 Hickory Flat Hwy., Canton, Georgia 30115.

Roper Funeral Home and Crematory of Jasper, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
