In loving memory of Mrs. Ruth Evelyn Glance, age 92, who died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Grandview Health Care Center in Jasper, Georgia following a period of declining health.

Born July 12, 1920 in Kalkaska, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Roy Benware and Eva Jane Anthony Benware. Mrs. Glance had worked 27 years as an elementary school teacher in the Mio AuSable School District, and then retired to Florida with her late husband, Peter.

Survivors include, DAUGHTER & SON-IN-LAW, Susan K. and Richard Hammill of Jasper, Ga.; SONS & DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, Peter B. Glance of Bangkok, Thailand; Terry L. and Karen Glance of Davenport Center, N.Y.; GRANDCHILDREN, Jeffrey A. Hammill (spouse Jennifer) of Marietta, Ga.; Jennifer K. Johnson (spouse Nicholas) of Canton, Ga.; GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, Katie, Abby, and Andrew Hammill, and Harper, Bryce and Sydney Johnson.

At her request, Mrs. Glance was cremated. A private family Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013. Dr. James McCormick will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to CARES, 89 Cares Dr., Jasper, Georgia 30143.
