Mr. A W “Dub” Lawson, Jr. age 87 of Jasper who passed away on Monday September 2, 2013 at his home.Mr. Lawson served his country in the US Army during World War II. Lawson Chevrolet was founded in 1928 by Dub’s father. In 1964 Dub became the owner of Lawson’s Chevrolet. Dub served as Chairman of the Board of Director at the Jasper Banking Company for over 30 years. He was also a member of Northside Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette Lawson, Jasper, Children, Shelia Buckner, Jasper, Ann & Eddie Duncan, Jasper, Lorrie & Scott Shaw, Jasper, and Al & Terri Lawson, Jasper, Grandchildren, Michael & Karrie Poole, Ashley Cagle, Chris & McKenzie Duncan, Colby & Jenna Shaw, Jordan Shaw, Ali Lawson, Will Lawson, and Clay Lawson, Great-Granddaughter, Jenna Poole, Jasper, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral Service will be 2 PM Wednesday September 4, 2013 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Minister Terry Burress and Rev. Johnny Padgett officiating. The interment will follow in the Jasper City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home on Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and until the funeral hour on Wednesday.

The family request in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Jasper City Cemetery Fund or to the American Red Cross.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home.
