Pickens’ “Nettes” Pick Up Nets for Season

The Pickens High School Dragonettes volleyball team’s season came to a close after a ride to Ringgold for the Region 7-AAAA Tournament at Heritage High School. The “Nettes” season was nixed after consecutive losses to the host team Lady Generals, and Ridgeland Lady PanthersThe “Nettes” had a rough time at the nets this year, not having won a match since August 26th. Head coach, Donna Ennis, spoke candidly about the Dragonettes’ season.
“When it comes to wins and losses I’m very disappointed because we son four games in August, and then we didn’t win after that, after August 26th and it’s just so disappointing to see the potentinal that we had I’m disappointed. But I told the girls the record on the court I’m very disappointed but they’re such a great group of girls and they’ve been such a joy to be around.”

The Dragonettes will honor the six senior players and two senior mangagers: Megan Cook: Mary Kapuscinski; Sarah Smith; Leslie Baldwin; Kaleigh Watters; Callie Green; Eric Baker and Timothy James; along with the team during the annual end of the year banquet on October 22nd at 6:30 at the Pickens Chamber of Commerce center.
