Mr. James Ambrose “ Mac “ McElhatten, Sr., age 76 of Jasper, Georgia died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Heritage Healthcare in Jasper, Georgia.
Born June 6, 1937 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Thomas C. McElhatten and Mildred George McElhatten / Boyd M. Johnston and Grace E. Johnston. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Iva M. Harbour and Ruth
E. Hankey, brothers, Thomas F. McElhatten and Kenneth E. McElhatten.

Mr. McElhatten was a master plumber and was owner/operator of McElhatten Plumbing.

Survivors include, HIS WIFE, Mary Jean (Sears) McElhatten of Jasper, Ga.; SON & DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, James Jr. and Jennie L. McElhatten of Covington, Ga.; SISTERS & BROTHERS-IN-LAW, Betty T. Jackson of Columbiana. OH; Helen “Jane” and Jake Hankey of Ford City, PA; Gladys B. and Charles Gillespie of Shelocta, PA; Shirley and Benjamin Woodard of Silver Creek, Ga.; Reeda and Leroy Patterson of Stockbridge, GA.; Betty and Ronald Savach of Hubbard, OH; BROTHERS & SISTERS-IN-LAW, William J. and Mildred “Bootsie” McElhatten of Shelocta, PA; Robert R. and Kathy McElhatten of Broken Arrow, OK; William B. and Alice Johnston of McCaysville, Ga.; Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel, Ministers William Johnston and Butch Jones will officiate with the interment to follow in O’Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Fannin County.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd., Suite 280, Kennesaw, Georgia 30144.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, 12:00 Noon until the Funeral Hour.

Arrangements and Services are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory of Jasper, Georgia.
