Jerry Joe Jones, age 48 of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Georgia, following a brief illness. Born July 8, 1965 in Tate, Georgia, he was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Jones and a step-daughter, Haley Gier. Mr. Jones had worked as a crater with the Royston Company and was a member of the Arbor Hill Baptist Church in Pickens County.

Survivors include, HIS WIFE, Louise Jones of Jasper, Ga.; DAUGHTERS & SONS-IN-LAW, Julie and Justin Jackson of Talking Rock, Ga.; Tiffany and Brenton Sperin of Jasper, Ga.; SONS & DAUGHTERS-IN-LAW, Joey and Kaitlin Ray of the Hinton Community; Cody and Savanna Ray of Jasper, Ga.; STEP-SONS, Jeremy Deese and Brandon Harrison, both of Calhoun, Ga.; GRANDCHILDREN, Skyler Queen, Bradley Ray, Bryson Queen, Miley Sperin and MacKenzie Jackson; MOTHER & STEP-FATHER, Carol and Skip Miller of Ball Ground, Ga.; SISTER & BROTHER-IN-LAW, Crystal and William Gravitt of Dahlonega, Ga.; BROTHER & SISTER-IN-LAW, Tony Jones and Cindy of Marble Hill, Ga.; GRANDMOTHER, Bobbie Stanfield of Jasper, Ga.; STEP-SISTERS, Ann Driver of Ball Ground, Ga.; Charity Wofford of Jasper, Ga.; STEP-BROTHER, Stanley Miller of Dallas, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Mike Byess and Rev. Cody Ray will officiate with the interment to follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on Monday until the funeral hour.
