The Pickens County Chamber of Commerce held the 8th Annual Leadership Snowball Golf Tournament yesterday. There was a good turn-out and participation for the event.With mild temperatures and the sun shining, smiles and laughs abounded during the fund-raising event.

Winners of the low net division were ETC while low gross was taken by Bledsoe Home Inspections, LLC.

Various drawings and other activities took place during the day, including the golf ball drop.

Prior to the event, people were invited to buy chances for cash prizes. Those who purchased chances were given numbers that corresponded to a numbered golf ball. All the balls were loaded onto an all-purpose vehicle and dumped onto the green with three holes. Whichever balls landed in the holes were awarded $50, $100 and $200.

Those winners were Rachel Hoffbauer gaining the $200 prize; Kyle Waters got $100 and Claire Callahan won $50.

All proceeds benefitted Pickens Leadership Programs through the Pickens Chamber of Commerce.

Henry Hamilton (right) won $240 in the 50/50 raffle. The remainder of the money went to Pickens Youth Leadership.

A trip to St. Simons Island was awarded to Brian Westbrook (right).
