Mr. James “Jim” Williamson, Jr., age 61, of Jasper passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Mr. Williamson proudly served his country in the United States Navy and then worked at Lockheed-Martin for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Hopkins Williamson of Jasper; sister and brother-in-law, Randy and Jane Williamson Paige of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Martin and Alicia Williamson of Wilmington, NC; mother-in-law, Irene Hopkins of Jasper; nephew, Evan Williamson Paige of Kent, Washington; nieces, Kelly Henderson of Virginia Beach, VA, Taylor Blake Howell of Jasper, Isabella Howell of Jasper, and McKinley Hopkins of Jasper; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Benny and Jamie Hopkins of Jasper, Sandy and Jeff Gilreath of Rydal.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Roper Funeral Home. The family requests that the visitation be very informal and casual as this would have been Jim’s request.

A private family service will be held later with burial to follow in Georgia National Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or those who desire may make contributions to Pickens Animal Rescue. Those who wish to send flowers the family would prefer a living plant.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home.
