What’s To Be Done With The GOP?
Opinion September 6, 2015
Opinion by George McClellan:
America is rapidly changing and the GOP doesn’t know it. America is being divided, possibly even Balkanized, into various ethnic, political, sexual and religious portions by deliberate intent of Socialists advocates as introduced through the Democrat Party by super American Communist, Saul Alinsky as laid down in his Rules for Radicals book of a few years ago.
Hillary Clinton has thrown her lot in with the Progressives side (Marxist) of America’s political equation and as the probable Democrat choice for President, she would clearly steer the American ship of state further onto the rocks and shoals of destruction. She is an Alinskite!
Where is the voice of opposition, where is the GOP? It’s no where! It struggles along as democrat lite, thinking that good governing means cooperating with the enemy. They have pitifully few voices calling for a return to the Constitution and the rule of law but, the GOP oligarchs, continues business as usual slapping down all voices of opposition. They function like it’s still the 1990’s and early 2000’s, the sad era of “Passionate Conservatism” the idea that inexplicably caused the GOP to abandon its conservative principles of limited government, less taxes, and onerous rules and regulations and expect the rest of us to agree with ‘em.
Now comes Donald Trump, slicing, dicing, chopping up all the GOP’s safety zone ideas and delivering up a plate of political hash that would gag a sow. Even with a deep field of talented, capable Republican hopefuls for president, the GOP is in disarray from the Trump assault and is encouraging us to accept Jeb, the 2nd passionate conservative, Bush, as our candidate. wtf!
The GOP “leadership” has no sorrier collection of inept, incompetent and incapable characters as John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. They told us, with a GOP majority in both chambers they would reverse Obamacare, cancel Obama’s immigration fiasco, change the tax code, reduce the size of government, fix the VA and correct the unfair culture (to tax payers) of growing entitlements. Now they can’t even stop a treaty with Iran. They tell us now they can do nothing until we have a Republican President plus the Congress.
What these two incompetent boobs are doing is re-energizing the TEA Parties. In my CD, Georgia’s 9th, our second term Congressman has been encouraged to join the fight to replace Speaker Boehner. His tepid answer, probably true, is that there was no time and no one was willing to run for the job. If chairmanships and subcommittee chairmanships are all that important to one’s resume, then perhaps we are doomed to be lead by the corrupt government we deserve. The consultant class, the lobbyists and the career class, don’t really care what party is in charge, so long as the taxpayers continue to fund their bank accounts.
I believe at least a House effort could stir the pot and make the conservative voter base happy. We just want to see something being done; we need to know someone is challenging the stupidity of the leadership, we need to know there is still a Republican Party. Failing that, expect the GOP to be generally ignored by the disappointed American voter base.
Career politicians are the bane of honest government. Careerists are corrupted by the feeding frenzy at the trough of ungodly amounts of tax payer money. Yes, we need to keep the Congress and take the Presidency but, we also need to clean both houses of its dead wood. The National Party had better sooner, rather than later, start thinking like the principled conservatives they have sold themselves to us to be. Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (6 Sept 2015)
