Please join the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce in congratulating the March Large Business of the Month, Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. A framed certificate was awarded to Piedmont Mountainside Hospital at the March Chamber of Commerce Breakfast by Melissa Jordan of Community Bank of Pickens County, sponsor of the Business of the Month program.

In 2004, Mountainside Medical Center became owned and operated by Piedmont, becoming Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Piedmont Mountainside is the sole hospital provider for Pickens County and provides a range of services from cardiac rehabilitation and imaging to orthopaedic services and cardiac catheterization. As the sole provider, they work hard to support Pickens County and in 2014, 44% of Piedmont Mountainside’s patients and 40% of surgeries originated from Pickens County.
In the past 12 years, Piedmont Mountainside Hospital has been awarded Small Hospital of the Year, Press Ganey’s Partner of Choice Award, Georgia Hospital Association Quality Honor Roll, Press Ganey Compass Award, Hospital of the Year by the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals, and many more. Even with all this prestige, they continue to generously give back to their small town community. They partner with Jasper Lions Club to provide health services at the Pickens County Health Fair, their employees serve on numerous boards (Good Samaritan, Pickens County Board of Health, ACES, and many more), provide health stat screenings for local businesses, support all Pickens County Schools by providing OTC medications and health nurse supplies, Annual Ladies Morning Out (women’s health, free and reduced mammograms during the month of October), Walk with a Doc, and annual Christmas Tree Contest (benefiting the elementary schools in Pickens and Gilmer Counties). In addition, their employees Dr. Folsom “Sonny” Proctor serves on the Chamber Board of Directors as Chair Elect Elect and Deanna Young serves on Professional Women of Pickens County as President Elect. Their Chamber involvement doesn’t stop there though. They have sponsored the Chamber Breakfast for the past 12 years, Georgia Marble Festival, Annual Winter Ball, and have three employees as previous Board members.
Nominations for future Small Business or Large Business awards are now being accepted. Contact Denise Duncan for nomination forms at [email protected] or visit us at the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce located at 500 Stegall Drive, Jasper, GA
