Mr. Perry Arthur Ligon, age 71, of Jasper passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016. He was born on November 21, 1944 to Arthur and Grace Ligon. Mr. Ligon was a long time resident of Jasper and was married 43 years to the late Lee Etta Ligon. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Perry was a graduate of University of Alabama and worked his entire career in the mining business. He was a Division Manager for Lafarge Industry in Ball Ground, Georgia. His favorite saying was: “Alabama football is in my heart, and racing is in my blood.”

He is survived by daughter, Pam Long (Terry) of Talking Rock; sons, Marcus Ligon (Kevin Price) of Athens, Rusty Ligon (Carol Ann) of Gainesville; grandchildren, Ryan Mosley, Tyler Mosley, Aley Mosley, Meya Mosley, Eli Ligon, Emily Ligon; step-grandson, Codey Long; and special friend, Thrissea Johnston of Jasper. He was preceded in death by wife, Lee Etta Ligon.

The service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Jess Posey officiating.   The family will be receiving visitors from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
