Loy Odell Hyde, age 83, of Talking Rock passed away Friday, August 19, 2016. He was born August 18, 1933 to Boyd and Julia Hyde in Talking Rock.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Blaine Masonic Lodge #534.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Clara Hyde of Talking Rock, Georgia; daughters, Jan Simmons of Rising Fawn, Linda Brock of Summerville; sister, Nedene Quinton of Jasper; grandchildren, Keisha Hall-Cassese of New York, Christy Wood of Fort Payne, Alabama, Chad Dodd of Summerville, Ashley Wilbanks of Summerville, Brandon Sizemore of Chattanooga, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Jayden Cassese of New York, Camryn Cassese of New York, Laney Dodd of Summerville, Libby Dodd of Summerville, and Ridge Wilbanks of Summerville.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Robinson; and cousins, Wimp Duckett and James Hyde.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Glenn Simms officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with a Masonic Graveside Service.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Roper Funeral Home.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper, Georgia.
