Today  (Pickens county ) was added to the area that is Drought Level Three. Acording to State Representative Rick Jasperse they have been working to have Pickens county included for a few weeks. Jasperse said, “Myself, Jerry Barnes and Philip Jones of the Appalachian Cattlemens Association have worked hard so our Farmers can gain benefits.”

This will allow our farmers to gain the benefits that our neighbors around us have received. Gordon, Murray and Cherokee were included last month.
Farmers should call the USDA Farm Service Agency in Calhoun 706 629 2582 to set up an appointment and get the process started.
Rep. Jasperse expressed his thanks to Jerry and Phillip for helping him accomplish this.

Please share this so it will get around to a wide audience.
