Arlettia Bonzeal “Bonnie” Jackson Wood, a resident of Hinton Community, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 after a long illness.

Born on July 21, 1923 in the Bethel Community of Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Arthur Jackson and Lily Gravley Jackson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Jackson and a sister, Jewel Jackson Agee; by her granddaughter, Tami Duckett; and by her husband of 58 years, Carter Tate Wood.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Rebecca (Albert) Cantrell, Martha (Jerry) Sims, and Donna (Thomas) Duckett; by grandchildren Michael Worley, Scott Worley, Hallie Clemons, and Troy Duckett; by step-grandchildren Jo-el Sims Howell and Brett Sims; and by 15 great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren, and 2 (soon to be 3) great-great-grandchildren, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Roper Funeral Home in Jasper. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roper Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Jasper, Georgia. Pallbearers are Troy Duckett, Michael Worley, Scott Worley, Terry Wood, Rick Grant, Brett Sims, and Chad Sims.

The family will accept flowers, or memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity or to Fairmount Church of Christ, Fairmount, Georgia.
