Harmony to close after rise in COVID

Harmony Elementary will close this afternoon, after an increase in cases of COVID-19. The school will remain closed until Oct. 26. Parents were notified via email with a phone call scheduled to go out this afternoon.
Students can ride the bus home this afternoon and the after school program will operate as normal today.
Students will be sent home with learning devices, and teachers and students will transition to our distance learning platform, its Learning. Students have been receiving instruction in how to use the platform since school began in August. If assistance is needed with the Learning platform, please email your child’s teacher or call the school at 706-253-1840.
All other schools in the district will remain open and operate as usual.

“I recognize the challenges that a school closure poses for many families in our community, we are making this decision with a heavy heart but for the greater good. Our priority is always the safety and well-being of our students and staff,” said Dr. Rick Townsend, superintendent.
