Grant Myers picked as new Dragons head football coach

Jasper, Ga — After a long search that included many outside candidates, Pickens High School has recommended a choice within. Dragons defensive coordinator Grant Myers is the pick to take over as Dragons head football coach. Myers, upon Pickens Board of Education approval, will become the 18th head football coach in Pickens High School history.

 

Myers, arrived in Jasper in 2019 after being at Spalding High School since 2011. Myers was named defensive coordinator for the Dragons football team as well as Director of Athletic Performance for PHS. Myers, will be tasked with leading a young Dragons football team that came within a game of the playoffs in 2020. With young talent at the high school level, and a promising young group at the junior high school, the future of Dragons football seems to be trending in the right direction.
