MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT TATE MOUNTAIN ESTATES
Featured Stories August 7, 2024 , by Emma DunnPICKENS COUNTY, Ga. – Pickens County Fire was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon around the 12:19 p.m.
It was reported that a loaded dump truck had left the roadway and was overturned with the driver entrapped just below the Tate Mountain Estates entrance.
Battalion 11 and Engine 10 was the first to arrive on scene to report the dump truck on its side. The driver was not “pinned in” but was still inside and could not get out of the vehicle on his own.
Fire crews immediately initiated rescue efforts by removing the windshield and assisted the driver out of the vehicle. Driver denied injury and elected not to be transported to a medical facility.
Fire crews remained on scene for stand-by until vehicle was removed from scene.
Units responding were Engine-10 and volunteers, Engine-50, Engine-11, Med-11, Battalion 11, 1100 and 1101.
