The Jasper Middle School wrestling team recently faced off with Chestatee and the rival Clear Creek Middle School Bobcats. JMS fell to both teams, 40-48 to Chestatee and 54-33 to Clear Creek.The Dragons faced off with Chestatee first falling by eight points despite jumping out to an early 31-9 lead. Chestatee went on to win six of the last eight matches to take the dual. Dylan Robinson (79); Nate Grace (94); Eric Robinson (110); Charles Kirby (118); Christian Chumley (125); Michael Burrel (132) Chandler Rhodes (180); and Logan Teems (72) all procured wins for the Dragons.
The Dragons next faced Clear Creek falling 54-33. The Dragons held an early lead again, 3-0, after Peyton Morris won his match at 86, 7-1; however, the Bobcat quickly tied the match at 3-3. The dual went back and forth throughout. With the match tied at 33-33, the Bobcats went on a four win streak, aided by a forfeit at 210 to take the dual 54-33.
Besides the aforementioned Morris match, the following wrestlers won matches versus Clear Creek: Charles Kirby (118); Garrett Thompson (147); Sam Stout (165); and Rhodes (185).
