Mr. Charles Joseph Durrance, age 60, of Ball Ground passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. He was born April 20, 1955 in Anniston, Alabama to Cecile Jehle Durrance and the late Samuel Durrance. Charles practiced law in the Atlanta area for many years, most recently in Marietta.

Charles is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Carolyn Durrance; his mother and step-father, Cecile and Gary Thurston; daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Ronnie Deal, Jr. of Watkinsville, Georgia and Natalie and Jeremy Pope of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Emma Deal, Caroline Deal, Crosby Pope; sisters, Maria Aspinwall, Joanie Jones, Margaret Ostrowski; brothers, Sam Durrance, Matt Durrance, Joe Durrance, Steve Durrance; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2015 at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church with Father Charles Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Roper Funeral Home.

The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions in Charles’ name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
