    The Pickens High School Dragons baseball team traveled to Murray County High School to take on the Indians. Pickens picked up the win with a 15-1 Dragon demolishing of the Indians not seen since before the pilgrims landed.

    The Pickens Dragonettes and Dragons soccer teams traveled to Gilmer High School to take on the Bobcats. The Dragonettes fell in out a 5-4 overtime shoot out, and the Dragons dropped a 3-2 decision after leading two nil.

  • Weyman Falls Short at State Tournament

    The Pickens Dragons’ wrestling season came to a close when JT Weyman’s bid to place in the 126lbs weight class ended in a consolation quarterfinals match of the AAA state tournament, held at the Gwinnet Arena Civic Center. Weyman’s opponent, Brady McCollum of Gilmer High School, went on to place sixth.

    The Pickens High School Dragons wrestling team hosted the annual “Burnt Mountain Classic.” The traditional style tournament, where individual wrestlers compete for placing at their respective weight classes, featured 20 different teams, from as far away as Alabama, and as close as Gilmer County, and of course the host county, Pickens.

    The Pickens Dragonettes and Dragons’ basketball teams hosted the Lady Raiders and Raiders of North Forsyth, in two close contests. While the Dragonettes fell four points shy of victory, 42-39, the Dragons won by one point 42-39.
