  • Braves Sign General Manager Frank Wren to Two-Year Contract Extension

    Atlanta Braves President John Schuerholz announced today that the Club has signed Executive Vice President and General Manager Frank Wren to a two-year contract extension through the 2013 season. Wren, 52, is entering his fourth season as General Manager after previously serving as Assistant General Manager to Schuerholz for eight seasons (2000-07).

  • Dragons Castrate Catamounts

    The Pickens County Dragons took on the Catamounts of Dalton High School in the quarterfinal round of the 7AAA Region Basketball Tournament, and secured a 63-55 victory over the host school. The Dragons used a balanced attack, combined with a sticky zone to thwart the Catamounts.

    The Pickens County Dragons met the Southeast Whitfield Raiders in the first round of the Region 7AAA basketball tournament Tuesday evening. The Dragons lambasted the Raiders 75-42.

  • Pickens Outlasts Cedertown

    The Pickens County Dragons hosted the Bulldogs of Cedartown High School, and survived with a 10 point 59-49 victory. The victory came on “Senior Night,” the last home game of the season. It was also “Breast Cancer Awareness Night.” Ten percent of the concession stand profit was donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
