Habitat For Humanity Builds Home For Family

Community

Jasper, GA  – Habitat for Humanity is celebrating the completion of a home for a local family of Pickens County.

Habitat For Humanity of Pickens County is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization to building homes, communities, and hope.

In 2016, Virginia Soulis was selected as purchaser after applying and completing the necessary documentation so that she could be vetted along with the other applicants. All potential Habitat home buyers submit to having their credit history inspected, proving that they have the ability to pay and that their past payment history meets certain guidelines.

On October 15, 2016, Habitat For Humanity President Steve Greenwell, State Representative Rick Jasperse, home buyer Virginia Soulis, and County Commission Chairman Rob Jones officially broke ground for the home to be built within New Hope Acres. This was the second built in the ten acre development that will eventually house seven families.

After almost a year of hard work and determination Habitat For Humanity was able to present the Soulis Family with their new home on August 9, 2017.

The organization stated,

You helped build your forever home! Habitat For Humanity of Pickens County is blessed to have been supported by our outstanding volunteers and local businesses that were critical in making this dream come true.
