Sondra Wigington Jones, age 55, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. Sondra was born May 27, 1962 to W. H. “Dub” and Betty Wigington. She was a teacher of special needs children with the Pickens County School system until her retirement.

Sondra is survived by her husband, Keith Jones of Jasper; sons, Brock Albert Jones of Jasper and Donavan William Jones of Atlanta; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Maxie and Joe Vansant, Doug and Melissa Jones, David Jones; aunts and uncles, Faye and Robert Evans, Martha and John McAfee; Peggy Waldroup; father-in-law, Max Jones of Jasper; special friends, Roy and Debbie Dobbs, Kayla, Marcus, and Karoline Kinser. Several other family members and loved ones also survive.

She was preceded in death by sons, Conner and Dillon Jones; parents, W. H. “Dub” and Betty Wigington; and sister, Donna Wigington.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Brother David Jones and Rev. Buck Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, May 18, 2018 at Roper Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to either Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or to the Leukemia Society.
