Last Tuesday, the Nettes varsity basketball team traveled up to Dalton to take on the Lady Raiders of Southeast Whitfield in what was a big region game for both teams. Before this game, the varsity girls saw their JV teammates defeat the JV Lady Raiders and looked to get a win of their own. Pickens indeed did just that. The Lady Raiders opened the ball game with a three pointer then the Nettes scored five straight. Southeast then went on a run themselves as they outscored Pickens the rest of the quarter, 14-5, to lead it after one, 17-5. The Nettes came back in the second quarter and cut the Lady Raider lead to 23-21 after an 11-6 quarter as we went to the break.

Pickens continued their good play from the second quarter into the third as they outscored Southeast 15-10 to take the lead into the fourth, 36-33. A back and forth final quarter would go the Nettes way as they outscored the Lady Raiders 19-16, to get an important win, 55-49. The Nettes are now 7-9 on the season and 3-3 in 7AAAA play.

Leading the way for Pickens on Tuesday were:
