Walter Andrew “Andy” Thompson, age 67 of Tate, Georgia, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at North East Georgia Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Thompson; sister, Beverly Mize; brother, John Wylie Thompson II; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tollyan and Danny Peterman; nieces and nephews, Natalie & Charles P. Mattson,Cynthia Peterman Greer, Shelly & Cassie Mize, Richard and Trisha Mize, John Wylie & Shannon Thompson III; great-nieces and nephews, John Mattson, James Mattson, Oliva Greer, Emily Mize, Holly Mize, Abby Mize, Addie Thompson and John David Thompson.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Greg Anderson and Kevin Roper officiating. The interment will follow in Lake Forest Memorial Park.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

The family request in lieu of flowers, make donations to Marble Valley Friends (PO Box 25; Tate, GA 30177), Amicalola Garden Club ( PO Box 25; Tate, GA 30177) or North East Georgia Red Cross.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
