Juanita H. Ellgass passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018. She was born January 29, 1928 in Tate, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late George Washington Harbin and Loma Wood Harbin.

Juanita earned her degree at Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and First Lieutenant, USAF. She practiced her Christian faith at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in Jasper, GA. She was married to her late husband, Lawrence J. Ellgass, Sr., for 59 years.

Survivors include her loving children, Lawrence J. Ellgass, Jr. of Chattanooga, TN; Barbara Dailey (Husband – John) of Woodstock, GA; Robert Ellgass of Acworth, GA; David Ellgass (Wife – Sherri) of Warner Robbins, GA; Jeanne Fernandez (Husband – Jim) of Marietta, GA. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Harbin Cox and brothers, George Harbin and Wallace Potts. She also survived her nephew, Charles Cox.

Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in Jasper. The interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 29th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Roper Funeral Home of Jasper with all arrangements and services entrusted to their staff.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation () or the American Heart Association ().
