Dragons remain unbeaten after region win

After the Nettes got their win to open up region play, the Dragons took the floor looking to complete the sweep over Heritage. Pickens came in undefeated at 4-0. With a win, the Dragons would surpass their win total from the 2018-19 season.

 

In the opening quarter, the Dragons got off to an incredible start led by Noah Sutton. Sutton, scored the first seven points for Pickens. The Dragons, used that run to help propel them to an 18-9 lead over the Generals after one.

In the 2nd quarter, the scoring in the frame was pretty tight. Pickens, outscored Heritage 15-11, after a furious rally towards the end of the half. Going to the break, the Dragons led the Generals, 33-20.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the 3rd quarter, Heritage was looking to get themselves back into the game. Using a 15-10 quarter run, the Generals did just that. Going to the 4th, the Dragons lead was cut to 43-35.

In the 4th, the Generals did all they could to try to cut into the Dragons lead, shooting three after three. Pickens, held on and get the win, 52-45.

Leading the way for the Dragons were:

Ean Goodwin: 15 points

Owen Moss: 14 points

Noah Sutton: 13 points

Tucker Lowe: 7 points

Luke Rogers: 3 points

 

Pickens moves to 5-0 now on the season after that win and, more importantly, 1-0 in region play. The Dragons will be on the road in Rossville this Friday night as they take on the Ridgeland Panthers. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
