At today’s meeting the 2016 audit was presented. Expenditures decreased compared to 2015 due to finishing the Tate Project. Pickens County debt is 1.9 million, the debt is very low compared to other counties.

The Board approved to repair the Grandview dam and to begin construction on a treatment facility. The treatment facility will create a reservoir for Pickens County. It will be considered as an enterprise fund, therefore it will not be pulled out of the tax payers funds. The reservoir will give Pickens County its own resource of water and benefit the community. With this being approved today the repairs should go into effect very soon.
