Robert P. Womack, age 88, of Canton, GA passed away on October 9, 2018. He was born November 8, 1929 in Scottsboro, AL, moved to Chattanooga and graduated from Baylor Military Academy and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Bob served as a Naval Officer during the Korean War prior to a long and distinguished career with Southern Bell/ATT while serving in Chattanooga, Atlanta and Savannah.
Bob married Nancy Lee Thompson of Chattanooga in 1963 with whom he shared 33 wonderful years. He retired to Big Canoe and established The Phone Place in Gainesville, GA. While at Big Canoe he served as the President of the HOA and was an avid golfer. He served as the Chairman of the Building Committee in the establishment of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family in Jasper, GA.
He was preceded by his parents, Lucille Thomas Womack and A.B. Womack; his wife, Nancy Thompson Womack; his brother, Brown M. (Billy Mac) Womack; his sister Paula Womack; and nephew, Tommy Womack.
He is survived by his nephew, Mark Womack of Birminghan; grand nephews, Beau Womack of Huntsville, AL and John David Womack of Birmingham, AL and sisters-in-law, Susan Thomson (Tom Cleary) and Alice Thompson of Columbia, SC.
Bob had many long-standing friends whose relationships he cherished dearly. Thanks to all for your love and support.

There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Noon ET at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family in Jasper, GA with George Yandell officiating followed by a reception and a graveside interment of the remains at Big Canoe Cemetery. (1851 Steve Tate Rd, Marble Hill, GA 30148)
